As families navigate through school closures, below is a list of Student Lunch Support Programs offered by school districts in Pierce County.

Bethel School District

FREE MEALS AVAILABLE AT 10 BETHEL SCHOOLS

Starting Tuesday, March 17, free meals will be available to ANYONE ages 1-18 through the end of the statewide school closure. These "grab and go" meals will include both lunch and breakfast for the following morning.

We'll be utilizing "curbside pick-up" to maintain social distancing, so you won't have to get out of your car to pick up the meals. Students do need to be in the car for parents/guardians to pick up meals for them.

Walk-ups are also welcome. Again, children must be present to pick up their meals. Please maintain 3-6 feet between families standing in line. Meals must be taken home to eat. There will be no place to eat at the meal site.

Can’t make it to one of our locations?

Delivery options are currently limited to those who have no transportation to a meal service location. If you cannot make it to one of our 10 free meal sites, please complete the following online form: https://forms.gle/L7Uo8WzhmLu4A3Wu7. If you do not have internet access, please contact our Child Nutrition Office at 253.800.6912 to make arrangements for meal delivery. We are working on expanding this service and will have more details soon.

Clover Park School District

Free student meals starting Tuesday, March 17

We are committed to providing lunch and breakfast for all Clover Park School District students during school closures. Each day, Monday through Friday, our buses will make 68 stops in Lakewood and on Joint Base Lewis-McChord to pass out meals.

Each student will receive two meals: lunch for the day and breakfast for the following morning.

Meals will be provided for all children ages 18 and younger. Children do not need to be enrolled in Clover Park School District to receive the meals.

Supplemental learning materials for students will be available for pickup at meal sites each Wednesday (except April 1) during school closures.

Beginning on Tuesday, March 17, FREE for ALL children 0-18, and special education students up to the age of 21.

Meal Service will be near the front entrance of these schools.

Franklin Pierce School District

Franklin Pierce Schools will offer free breakfast and lunch to all children and youth ages 0-18*, Monday-Friday from Monday, March 16 - Friday, April 24. Buses will will arrive on site (apartments/churches) by 11:15am, school locations will be pick up only in the loading zone. Meals will be distributed until 1pm. Please note, children must be present to receive a meal.

Peninsula School District

PSD GRAB & GO MEAL SERVICE STARTS 3/17
To help support families during the school closure due to the coronavirus, Peninsula School District will be offering free meals to all students 18 and under beginning Tuesday, March 17.

Lunches will be grab and go sack lunch style, with either a sandwich or wrap with fruit, vegetables, and milk. Lunches will be provided at the following sites for pickup Monday-Friday between 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.:

Artondale Elementary;
Evergreen Elementary;
Purdy Elementary;
Key Peninsula Middle School; and
Gig Harbor High School.

Meal stations will be located near the front of each school to encourage social distancing. Students must be present to receive a lunch. Students do not need to qualify for free or reduced meals to receive a lunch, and no forms or registration are required.

Pre-ordering is not necessary, but meal orders can be submitted online by clicking HERE.

Puyallup School District

UPDATED Wednesday, March 18, 2020

In light of the Governor’s most recent orders and recommendations today that enforce further restrictions on social distancing and high-risk populations that impact our community and employees, the Puyallup School District is assessing its current breakfast and lunch program. Unfortunately, our services for breakfast and lunch are temporarily on hold. We are committed to care for our community, within the mandates from the Governor and health department. We are hopeful our services may resume next week.

Steilacoom School District

FREE breakfast & lunch grab-and-go meals will be available at all SHSD schools from 11:30am-12:30pm daily during closure to any child age 0-18. Each child does need to be present to pick up a meal, but children can pick up their meals at any school site. If transportation to a school site is an issue, please email info@steilacoom.k12.wa.us.

Two additional meal distribution sites have been added:

  • Chief Leschi Park 1775 Ridge View Drive in DuPont
  • Intersection of 108th Ave SW and 109th St SW in Steilacoom

Sumner School District

Weekday Meal Pickup: Grab-and-go meals will be available to all students under the age of 18 starting Monday, March 16.

Locations for March 16-20 are as follows:

Weekend Backpack Food Delivery: SBLSD is continuing its Backpack Program in which low-income students receive a bag of nutritious, easy-to-prepare food on Fridays to last over the weekend. District staff will deliver these bags of food to families who already receive this service. We thank the Sumner and Bonney Lake food banks for their continued dedication to serving our students in need.

Tacoma Public Schools

Tacoma Public Schools Nutrition Services Department will provide meals to all students affected by emergency school closures beginning Monday, March 16 at our middle school buildings.

Meals will be served between 10 a.m. and noon.

Each student will receive two meals: lunch for the day and breakfast for the following morning.

Please enter through the school's bus loading zone. Our Nutrition Services staff will serve drive-thru style. Walk-ups are also welcome.

Please look for our onsite sandwich boards for additional directions.

The Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department has approved this process for meal distribution, which avoids people congregating in one area.

University Place School District

The district will begin food service for all school age children who need it on Monday, March 16th at Evergreen Primary, Narrows View Intermediate, Chambers Primary and University Place Primary schools.

School cafeterias at these schools will be open Monday-Friday from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM to provide lunch and the next day’s breakfast (in a bag) for students.  If you can’t get your student to these schools - at these times- please contact your school. We will expand services if needed.

Mobile Meal Services will begin Monday, March 16th.

White River Child Nutrition Services will continue to serve meals for kids on a daily basis during this school closure. Meals must be picked up by students. All kids 0-18 may pick up a FREE meal at any location. (Families with kids at multiple schools may choose any location).
