Tahoma School District

Tahoma staff are working to determine what day the district will begin serving free lunch for students. However, we can share that once the program begins, we will serve lunch for any child 18 and younger at two locations. When children arrive to eat, they can have lunch or take it to go, and they can also take home a sack breakfast for the following morning. Meals are provided at no charge. We will not need student ID numbers or names.

Because the district is not yet ready to begin serving lunch, our community partner, the Maple Valley Food Bank, will hold extended hours this Monday, March 16, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Meal Pick up and Delivery options:

Starting Monday March 16th we will have two ways for you to access free breakfast and lunch for your students.

  1. Our bus drivers will be delivering meals to designated pick up locations around Vashon. Please see the attached route information and schedule to find the time and location of your nearest pick up.
  2. You may also pick up a meal from the kitchen at Vashon High School between 8-11 a.m. daily
  3. Please note at this time Washington State asks that students be present for meal pickup.  This may change in the future.

You can participate in this program as it best suits your needs, and you are welcome to join us later if you elect not to take advantage of it now. We understand this is a very busy time in the lives of our families.
