Dear CCR Community,

We are excited to announce that Child Care Resources has been awarded a Federal Early Head Start – Child Care Partnership grant, the first in Western Washington in over a decade. Our team has worked tirelessly to bring these resources to our region, and I wanted to share the good news with you first.

This is a huge leap forward for our organization. Through this $1.9 million grant, we’ll be supporting children, families, and providers in South King and Pierce Counties with a wide array of services in order to implement Early Head Start programs, providing 72 infants and toddlers with high-quality child care.

As you know, CCR’s antiracist mission is embedded in everything we do. This grant brings additional resources into our systemic antiracism work and will focus on providers and families reflecting and serving children of color and families and children experiencing housing instability.

Early Head Start (EHS) programs promote the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development of infants and toddlers through safe and developmentally-enriching caregiving. You can learn more about these programs here. As we move forward locally, we’ll be sure to keep in touch with additional information including how you can get involved and support this important effort.

As we take on this exciting—and daunting—new work, I can’t tell you how important it is to all of us at CCR to have friends, allies, and colleagues like you alongside us. I am proud to say that CCR has risen to the challenge of the last year, and this grant is one of many ways in which this organization is working harder than ever to serve our region’s children and families. Thank you, as always, for making that possible.
