Find a Kaleidoscope Play & Learn Group
Kaleidoscope Play & Learn groups are organized play groups for young
children and the people who take care of them – grandparents, aunts and
uncles, brothers and sisters, parents and other family members and
friends.
At Kaleidoscope Play & Learn, children and caregivers take part in play
activities that support children’s early learning. They also get a
chance to meet new friends, hear more about other early learning and
family support programs in their neighborhood, and to get out of the
house and have fun. Caregivers also learn more about child development
and what they can do at home to support the healthy growth and learning
of the children in their care.
Groups meet weekly all over King County in libraries, family centers,
schools, community centers and other neighborhood locations. Most groups
are free and many do not require registration. Groups are offered in a
variety of languages.
All Kaleidoscope Play & Learn groups follow the
Kaleidoscope Play & Learn Guidelines and participate in a
King County-wide evaluation of the program to make sure that we’re
reaching our goals of supporting caregivers and children .

Niños escuchan cuentos, cantan y participan en actividades de
artes con sus padres o cuidador durante la hora de grupo.
Tambien hay tiempo para que los niños exploran varios juguetes y
actividades. El hora de Juego Libre y Tiempo de Círculo de 11 a
12pm. Les animamos a los padres y cuidadores traer una comida
para comer con su niño/a y compartir en grupo. A traves de este
grupo, los niños reciben preparacion para el ambiente de
aprendizaje que se encuentra en el prescolar y kinder, ademas de
formando relaciones con otros. Igual, los padres y cuidadores de
niños crean y fortalezen coneccion y comunicacion con los niños,
y se conectan con otros adultos que cuidan niños en su comunidad.
Children listen to stories, sing songs, and do simple arts and
crafts with their caregivers during the group time. There is
also play time for children to explore various toys and play
activities. Free play and circle time from 11 a.m. - noon.
Caregivers are encouraged to bring a lunch or snack and eat
together from noon - 12:30 p.m.
Through this group children are being prepared for preschool and
kindergarten learning environments as well as building
relationship with others. Caregivers also build up and
strengthen connection and communication with the children, and
get connected with other caregivers in the community. |
